How to Install a Plaster Ring and Wall Plate in Drywall
This tutorial video shows you how to install a wall plate into drywall.
To accomplish this, you need the following items:
- Plaster ring (also called a P-ring or mud ring)
- Wall plate
- Drop cloth or sheet of paper
- Drywall saw
- Pair of pliers
- Screwdriver (Our wall plates require a Philips head)
We'll show you, step by step, how to position your wall plate, saw through the drywall, install the plaster ring, and mount the wall plate.
Whenever you're installing a wall plate for your home or office, make sure that you terminate all your jacks BEFORE inserting them into your wall plate or mounting the plate to the wall!

In part 3 of a 4 part video series, we look at installing a runway ladder to the Black Aluminum Relay Rack .
